What is Responsive Design and what is it for?

Responsive Design

It can be said that companies seek to promote themselves through a website, many of which design it with a nice interface, easy to use and useful in the search for content and information.

But it does not do much good, if these are read on a single device. Responsive design is very important to offer a truly functional website.

What is responsive design?

Responsive design is the one that makes it possible that the same page on the Internet can be displayed correctly on different electronic devices. Computers, tablets and smartphones have different characteristics, such as, for example, the operating system, screen size, etc.

When we try to access a page without responsive design, navigation on it is problematic, since the letters and images are not displayed well or are not reduced in size; if they are displayed at all. This causes the user to leave the page immediately.

This fact gives a negative message of what we offer. They may think that the product we offer is outdated. In addition, Google already takes the mobile factor as the main positioning factor between Smartphone and Desktop.

Therefore, it is imperative to go hand in hand with technology. We must not confuse the responsive, with the creation of web pages specially designed for mobile. Responsive design is the same web page, displayed with the same appearance on all devices.

More and more users are accessing the web from mobile devices. Adapting the page to each of them takes work, since it means having two or more web pages and duplicating the maintenance of them. Therefore, responsive is practical because it avoids this unnecessary problem.

Why do we need it in our company?

  1. The number of users who browse from mobile devices is increasing.
  2. It is necessary in order to gain ground against the multitude of pages on the Internet, who want to position themselves in the search engines of the network. Google, Yahoo!, Bing etc. (It is vital for the application of SEO to your website).
  3. The user will come to us. If the browsing experience from their mobile was pleasant to the point that they made purchases through it, the possibility that they enter again is doubled.
  4. We save future work. The responsive makes it possible for our website to look good on all devices today, but also on those that may appear in the near future. So we will not have to adapt our portal again for this eventuality. We will save a lot of work.
